Potassium methyl silicate is an alkaline aqueous solution generated by the reaction of potassium hydroxide and methylsilicic acid, which can react with CO2 or other acidic substances in the air to form the active substance polymethyl silicic acid to produce waterproof performance. Mainly used for mineral waterproof agent. The product needs to be diluted with water, waterproof to the surface and reducing water absorption. It has the characteristics of being permeable and absorbent, and it can maintain the natural appearance of the substrate. It forms an insoluble waterproof and breathable film on the surface of the substrate, which has excellent waterproofing, anti-seepage, anti-dampness, rust prevention, anti-aging and anti-pollution properties. It prevents water from being absorbed into the substrate, thereby reducing spalling caused by freeze-thaw and weathering, and increasing lifespan of the substrate. The product is simple construction, low cost, lasting effect, scrub resistance, high and low temperature resistance (-50~150℃).

4.usable method

1.1 Clean the surface of the substrate before use, the base area of water, dust and other attachments to remove clean, if there are cracks to use putty or cement slurry to fill flat, the substrate surface should be smooth, solid, no free drum, loose and other phenomena.

1.2 Before construction, slightly wet the substrate surface for absorption.

1.3 Dilute to 3% or lower concentration when using. If a concentration higher than 3% is required, experimental verification must be conducted, as high concentration usage can lead to the formation of white residues on waterproof surfaces.

1.4 It can be applied by soaking, spraying, or brushing using cloths, sponges, brushes, rollers, and sealed spray guns. It also be mixed into concrete for use.

1.5 After brushing, let the treated surface dry naturally, and brush the second time before it dries. If used for surface protection of stone or tiles wipe off excess liquid with a soft cloth before it dries, and do not let it come into contact with water for at least 24 hours.

5.Packaging and storage

This product is packaged in 25 kg or 250 kg plastic drums, stored in sealed containers, with a shelf life of 12 months. During storage and transportation, rain, sun exposure, and damage to packaging containers should be prevented. This product is not hazardous, but it is strongly alkaline and should be transported and stored properly.
